Which resale platform pays you the most?
The same item, sold at the same price, can leave you several dollars better off on one marketplace than another. Enter a price and this table ranks Depop, eBay, Poshmark and Whatnot by what actually reaches your pocket — using only rate cards we have read on each platform's own site, each one dated.
Left blank means the buyer pays no shipping.

Conditions that change these numbers
- Depop official rate card verified 2026-10-05
- Boosted listings add 12% (US/UK) or 8% (AU) of the item price — not included here.
- The 0% selling fee applies to sellers in the US, UK and Australia; elsewhere Depop still charges 10% plus PayPal processing.
- Whatnot official rate card verified 2026-10-05
- Commission is tiered on your rolling 28-day sales: 8% is the standard tier ($0–$14,999). Higher volumes step down, fashion reaching 4.5% above $500,000.
- Coins & Money is 4% at the standard tier; commission is charged on the item price only.
- 0% commission applies to the portion of a single order above $1,500 in selected categories, with processing still charged.
- eBay official rate card verified 2026-10-05
- 13.6% is the most-common category rate. Books/media 15.3%, trading cards 13.25%, handbags and jewellery 15%, athletic shoes 8% on sales of $150+.
- Fixed per-order charge is $0.30 only on orders of $10.00 or less; $0.40 above that.
- Insertion is free for the first 250 listings a month; promoted listings and store subscriptions cost extra.
- Poshmark official rate card verified 2026-10-05
- No separate payment-processing fee is itemised — Poshmark takes its commission from the proceeds.
- Poshmark's shipping label is bought by the buyer at a flat rate, so the shipping amount in your comparison does not reach you there.
- Only platforms whose official rate card we have read are ranked. We would rather show four verified rows than eight guesses.
- Fees are estimates built from published rate cards: category, seller tier, promotions and taxes can move them.

The rate cards behind the table
Every number above comes from one of these pages, last verified 5 October 2026. Where a platform's fee depends on category or seller tier, the condition is stated rather than averaged away.
| Platform | Market | Commission | Payment processing | Also watch | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Depop | US / UK / AU | 0% selling fee | 3.3% + $0.45 (US), 2.9% + £0.30 (UK), 2.6% + A$0.30 (AU) | Boost adds 12% (US/UK) or 8% (AU) of the item price when used | Official fee page |
| eBay | US | 13.6% of the total sale in most categories | No separate fee — Managed Payments is built into the final value fee | $0.30 per order up to $10.00, $0.40 above $10.00 | Official fee page |
| Poshmark | US | $2.95 flat under $15; 20% at $15 and above | Not itemised to sellers — taken from the sale proceeds | Buyer pays Poshmark's own flat-rate shipping label | Official fee page |
| Whatnot | US | 8% standard tier, charged on the item price only | 2.9% + $0.30 on price + buyer shipping + tax | Commission tier is set by your rolling 28-day sales volume | Official fee page |
Markets modelled today: United States (USD) · United Kingdom (GBP) · Australia (AUD). eBay, Poshmark and Whatnot rate cards are market-specific and we have verified their US cards, so a UK or Australian comparison shows Depop only rather than foreign rates.
How we keep the comparison fair
- Verified rates only. If we cannot read the platform's own fee page, the platform is not ranked — it is listed under the table with the reason.
- Each fee component is rounded to cents before the components are summed, which is how the marketplaces themselves present it.
- Shipping is stated, not assumed. Depop, eBay and Whatnot pass buyer-paid shipping to you and charge fees on it; Poshmark does not pay you the shipping you enter, because its label is bought by the buyer.
- Optional extras are excluded by default. Depop Boost, eBay promoted listings and eBay store subscriptions all cost more, so they are disclosed as conditions instead of being quietly folded in.
- Estimates, not invoices. Confirm against your own payout statements before repricing a whole inventory.
Platform fee questions
- Which resale platform has the lowest fees in 2026?
- On the rate cards we have verified, Depop is the cheapest for sellers in the US, UK and Australia: no selling fee at all, so only payment processing applies — about 4.6% on a $35 US item. Whatnot works out around 11.8% at its standard tier, eBay about 14.7% in most categories, and Poshmark a flat 20% on sales of $15 or more. Fees are only one input though: the platform where your item actually sells beats the cheapest platform where it does not.
- Is it worth moving from Poshmark to Depop?
- On fees alone, yes on paper: for a $35 US sale, Depop leaves you $5.39 more than Poshmark. Whether it is worth moving depends on whether your items sell on Depop at a similar rate — a cheaper fee on a slower marketplace can cost more than a 20% commission on a fast one.
- Why is eBay's per-order fee different in your table?
- eBay charges $0.30 per order only for orders of $10.00 or less, and $0.40 above that. Most third-party calculators still print a flat $0.30, which overstates your net proceeds on any order over $10. We use the threshold from eBay's own fee page.
- Why do you not compare Mercari, Etsy, Vinted or TikTok Shop?
- Because we could not read their official rate cards: those sites block automated access or require a logged-in seller account, and we will not publish a fee number we cannot point at an official page. They are listed in the tool as unranked, with the reason. If you sell on one of them, send us the official fee page and we will verify and add it.
- Does the comparison include the shipping the buyer pays?
- It depends on the platform, and each row says which basis it uses. Depop, eBay and Whatnot pass buyer-paid shipping through to you and charge fees on it (Whatnot charges commission on the item price only). Poshmark uses its own flat-rate label that the buyer pays for, so that shipping never reaches you. This is why the table shows a fee basis line under every platform.
- How accurate are these numbers?
- They are estimates built from each platform's published rate card on the date we checked it, and every row links to that source. Category, seller tier, promotions and local taxes can move the real number, so use this to rank your options and then confirm on your payout statements.
